The conference is being hosted at Trinity College, Bristol, a theological college providing training for ordained ministry in the Church of England. The main house of the College dates back to the 17th Century, and is set in beautiful grounds. Only two miles away from the centre of Bristol, close to both the M4 and M5 motorways and Bristol’s principal railway stations, Trinity borders Durdham and Clifton Downs, a wide expanse of parkland which stretches across to the spectacular Avon Gorge and Brunel’s famous Clifton Suspension Bridge. The city of Bristol offers a blend of exciting new attractions and a fascinating history encompassing a thousand years of discovery, imagination and inspiration. John and Charles Wesley lived and ministered here: John Wesley’s chapel – the New Room – is the oldest Methodist chapel in the world and the Charles Wesley Heritage Centre is housed in Charles’ old home. Not far from Bristol nestling in the Somerset countryside is the small and beautiful city of Wells with its magnificent medieval cathedral and moated bishop’s palace. Close by lies Glastonbury and its folklore connections with Joseph of Arimathea and King Arthur’s Avalon.
