University Groups

We would love to see “Christians in Psychology” groups meeting regularly in psychology departments across the country. A few aims of such a group might include:

  • encouraging one another in Christian faith;
  • critically evaluating psychology in light of Biblical truth;
  • exploring how psychology and Christianity can be integrated;
  • providing a forum for open and honest discussion amongst peers and staff members who would not call themselves Christians.

There are a few groups active so far, each with a different approach. Email the administrator if you would like to know if there is one in your area. BACIP has offered support, guidance and resources in a way that is relevant to the needs of each group. We are always happy to hear from any groups already in existence or to share ideas if someone wants to set one up – just let us know! Alternatively, one of the sample articles from The Christian Psychologist explains how one person went about setting up a University Group – read it here.

In addition to encouraging university groups, BACIP also maintains a few Regional Groups across the United Kingdom. Students are very welcome at these too, so if it’s not possible to set up a university group why not see if there’s a regional group you can join.
